The next day we drove to Nara, which is about 30 mins east of Osaka. We got in mid afternoon and headed straight out to see the deer in Nara park. The park is full of them and you can buy special biscuits to feed them. We got a little lost and headed to the wrong temple, of which there are several. It was getting late but we made it to the Todaiji Temple before it closed and saw the giant Buddha. It is 15m tall and is one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in Japan. This building is also said to be one of the largest wooden structures in the world.
