We could have stayed at this place for much longer. The house was beautiful, the host family were amazing and the countryside was breathtaking. Unfortunately we only had 3 nights here, but it did give us a couple of days of downtime to give everyone a break before heading off to Hiroshima.
We found the most amazing cake shop in town, but they were closed the day we left! We mainly spent the 2 days exploring the area on bikes and in the car. We went up into the mountains and found snow where the girls made a snowman. Ella and Abbie are obsessed with snow, and they loved playing with it even though our snow gear is still packed away. The owners of the house also took us up to see some goats, which the girls loved, and one afternoon we gave them a hand in their veggie garden.
The house was a beautiful wooden traditional Japanese house, and it had a lot of art throughout made by the owners. We would recommend this place for anyone coming to Japan as an escape from the big cities, and for some downtime to soak in the beautiful Japanese countryside and experience some amazing hospitality.
